Are You Eligible for Disability Social Security?

Being an employed individual comes with the risks of being exposed to environment and activities that could result in temporary or permanent disability. To compensate for such contingencies, the government has established a disability social security program to give assistance to qualified employees or their beneficiaries.

Do you think you’re qualified for this type of income insurance? Answer the following questions to find out:

  1. Are you a permanent resident of the United States, have accumulated 40 work credits (20 of which were earned in the past 10 years), and have not worked because of a condition?

  2. Is your condition severe enough that it prevents you from performing basic work-related activities?

  3. Is your condition found in the list of disabling conditions under Social Security Administration (SSA) guidelines?

  4. Is your condition prohibiting you to do the work you previously did?

  5. Is your condition stopping you from taking any other type of work?

If you answered yes to all these questions, the chances are high that SSA will grant your request to receive disability insurance benefits. So you need to make sure that you fill in the application form correctly and completely, and have all necessary and supporting documents ready in case SSA asks for them.
